Dave and I usually try to go on a trip, no matter how small, to celebrate anything! It’s so nice to take that little break to be together and to explore! So for Christmas we chose to go to Arizona! I have a lot of family down there and Dave’s favorite NFL team happened to be playing there over Christmas break!
It really was an amazing time and I got to shoot some sessions while there which is always nice!
We flew in from Provo on allegiant air and our flight was delayed 5 HOURS. Ugh. Luckily we got notifications early enough so we only sat in the airport two of those hours really. I just worked on my laptop so it was ok, but we still missed out on like 6 hours we could have been playing! We were supposed to land at like 4 and landed at 10. The struggle is real.
Saturday: Landed, got our Mustang because by that time of night all the other cars were taken (haha) and just went straight to the nearest food place: Cafe Rio. We’re so original I can’t even stand it. Then we got to my aunt’s house and slept!
Sunday: Chatted with my awesome aunt and Uncle before heading to the Packer’s vs. Cardinal’s game!! It was super exciting! It was about a 45 min drive from where we were so we got going. We parked for free at Cabella’s right across the street which was way awesome! I wasn’t feeling too well, just a cough, but the energy is really cool, and there were lots of Packer’s fans despite being in Arizona!
After the game we were stuck in traffic in a bad way, so we pulled off the freeway to wait it out and we had a gift card from Christmas to Texas Roadhouse! Again, so original, but you can’t beat free, or skipping traffic so I was all in!
Monday: Went to breakfast at Cracker’s! This place is sooo good! Then went to my cousin’s and she did my hair and makeup for a testimonial video I’m doing! :) Shot the video then met up with Josh and Jamie for their turn in the video and some “engagement” pictures, even though they’re already married! Ended the day by eating at Rosa’s and seeing Star Wars!
Tuesday: Went to Last Chance, because, duh. Stopped and got some Sprinkles Cupcakes because their chocolate marshmallow is everything I want in a dessert and there is no Sprinkle’s in Utah. Went back home and rested because what else is a vacation for?? Then we met up with Natalie for her pictures and it was so fun! My friend Hiliary from high school moved down to AZ and it was SO fun to see her and catch up!! She came and shadowed both of my sessions and we had so much fun! Then we stayed in the desert for a few minutes to take some fun pictures!
We ate at backyard taco that night with some of my cousin’s and then went and chatted and played games with them! I always feel great when I get to see these guys, I didn’t grow up near them but it’s fun to still create and maintain this fun bond that we do! Here’s some old pictures of us and my grandpa I found at my aunts house!
